The current new edition honors the German and Austrian Philatelist Day, which will take place from October 6 to 8, 2006 for the first time in 82 years. Venue is the Bavarian spa town of Bad Reichenhall. The joint organizers are the Bund Deutscher Philatelisten (BdPh) and the Verband Österreichischer Philatelistenvereine (VÖPh). The meeting recalls the orientation of the first German and Austrian Philatelist Day, which took place in Cologne in 1896. It became the starting point for decades of good cooperation between German and Austrian stamp collector associations.
