The "Haus an der Förde" in Kiel has housed the Schleswig-Holstein Landtag since 3 May 1950. The four-storey brick cube was inaugurated in 1888 as the Imperial Naval Academy. It is 100 meters long, 50 meters wide and 24 meters high. After the Treaty of Versailles of 1919, the Academy was dissolved. For this, the Naval Station Baltic Sea, an administrative authority, moved in. During the Second World War, bombs destroyed the building. During the restoration, the facade was simplified. With the state parliament also parts of the government moved into the country house. The building is currently being refurbished. On the water side, a new plenary hall in the form of a glass cube is being built for 14 million marks. The motif on the special stamp documents the old architectural form.
