XIX. 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City to the XIX. The proceeds from the sale of the additional stamps are provided by the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications to the National Committee of the German Democratic Republic. Thus, the solidarity of our population with the goals of the Olympic Movement and its humanistic content is once again clearly documented. Sport and physical culture are actively supported and promoted by the government and social organizations in the first German working-class and peasant state, the German Democratic Republic. Sport and physical culture have their firm, constitutional foundation even in the new socialist constitution of our state. The past successes of GDR athletes in the Olympic Games, World and European Championships show how the broad development of the sport among children and young people has grown more and more a powerful peak that is internationally recognized and recognized.
