New Postage Stamp Series The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic issues two more values of the new postage stamp series. No special first-day cover letter Postwertzeichenendauerserie 25-Pfennig value: Berlin-Alexanderplatz The newly designed Berlin Alexanderplatz, whose most important buildings are depicted on this brand, is today already an internationally respected urban ensemble. Together with the television tower and the Centrum department store, with the 40-storey skyscraper of the Hotel Stadt Berlin and the Haus des Lehrers, it forms the culmination point of the city center. Completed in 1964 and later included in the new ensemble, the teacher's home bears an interesting bandage of Walter Womacka surrounding the entire building. Although Alexanderplatz completely changed, it remained an important traffic junction. At the same time, however, the builders created for the citizens of the capital and their visitors an impressive and varied experience, which pedestrians can take in at leisure. For example, the original World Clock, which is reproduced on the stamp in the foreground, has become a popular meeting place on the "Alex".
