On October 9, the 47th welfare stamp series will be released in favor of the Free Welfare. The recipient of the proceeds from the sale of these special stamps is the Federal Working Group of the Free Welfare Care Association, in which the Arbeiterwohlfahrt, the Diakonische Werk of the EKD, the German Caritas Association, the German Paritätische Wohlfahrtsverband, the German Red Cross and the Central Welfare Office of the Jews in Germany have united , These organizations help wherever government aid is not enough. The charity stamp series of regional farmhouses from Germany, which started in 1995, will be continued this year with five more editions. The Thuringian farmhouse is represented by the "Birkenheider Haus", which originates from the Schiefergebirge near Saalfeld and is today open to the public in the folklore museum »Thüringer Bauernhäuser« in Rudolstadt. The simple half-timbered construction reflects the living conditions of the »Wäldler« of the slate mountains, which also lived on rafting, box making and charcoal burning. Facing the viewer is the living area with parlor and chamber, in the rear part was originally the stable. In between is a kitchen corridor that runs through the entire broad side of the building.
