From April 19 to 23, 1989, the FIP (Fédération Internationale de Philatélie) will host the 1st World Exhibition of Philatelic Literature on German soil in the Alte Oper Frankfurt. Organizer is the Association of German Philatelists e.V., umbrella organization of organized stamp collectors; The organizer is the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Frankfurter Briefmarkenensammlerverein e.V. (AFBV). The patronage for this highly interesting special exhibition of works of research philately has been published by Bundespostminister Christian Schwarz-Schilling taken over. The Foundation for the Promotion of Philately and Postal History e.V. significantly supports this event. With its exhibits on manuals, monographs, special studies, catalogs, journals, yearbooks, etc., the IPHLA '89 Frankfurt provides a global overview of the wide range of philatelic and post-historical literature. More than 550 literature exhibits from the last 5 years from 40 countries around the world, from Argentina to Cyprus, are critically appraised by an international jury. The Federal Republic of Germany as the host country is represented with almost 250 exhibits. The IPHLA '89 Frankfurt will be held together with the National Postage Stamp Exhibition of the Association of German Philatelists, the NAPOSTA'89, at the Frankfurt Alte Oper. With this broad spectrum of philately, all visitors are given new and valuable impressions. »Go for Gold« is said to be there for over 250 collectors and collectors, one fifth of them are young people, who compete with their exhibits in various classes for the peaceful national collector's contest. 10 foreign postal administrations, especially from the neighboring Western European countries, as well as the German Federal Post Office will present their offers and services directly at the IPHLA-NAPOSTA '89 in the Alte Oper Frankfurt. Another around 40 brand countries are represented by agencies. The German specialist trade, the specialist publishers and specialist libraries with their attractive offers form further attributes of the IPHLA NAPOSTA '89 Frankfurt. The modern concert and congress center Alte Oper - created in 1981 by reconstruction of the neoclassical building destroyed in the war - offers perfect conditions for a successful and unmistakable course of these philatelic celebrations thanks to its perfect technical equipment and its charming location close to the city.
