World peace meeting in the capital of the GDR Berlin 1969 For the world peace meeting in the capital of the German Democratic Republic Berlin 1969 three multicolored special postage stamps in the Zusammendruck are issued as strip of three, of it a value sign with surcharge. The amount collected will be provided to the Peace Council of the German Democratic Republic. In February of this year, representatives of 20 international organizations, representatives of many national movements and personalities in the capital of the German Democratic Republic of Berlin, decided to hold a World Meeting for Peace in this city from 21 to 24 June 1969. In addition, the World Peace Council will meet on the same place on 25 and 26 June. Thus, in 1969, the twentieth year of the existence of the German Democratic Republic, the first German peace state, new impulses for understanding, cooperation and actions for the preservation and consolidation of peace will emanate from Berlin. On the occasion of the World Peace Meeting, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic issued three special postage stamps as a se-tenant. The Brand Creator's intention to reinforce the content of the meeting by correspondence corresponds to the nature of the meeting, to which the convenors of the meeting invite all people "who feel responsible for world peace" to freely exchange views on the main topics of Vietnam, European Security , Middle East, National Independence, Colonialism, Neo-Colonialism and Disarmament. There are also meetings for the youth, women, trade unionists, farmers, parliamentarians. The mark of 0.20 M plus 0.05 M mark, which benefits the fund of this world meeting, not only presents the new picture of Berlin in the depiction of important landmarks of our socialist capital, but also states on which foundation our peace policy based. There we find the memorial to the heroes of the Soviet Army, who had to seal their victory over Hitler's fascism with their lives. In our republic, the norms of international law fixed in the Potsdam Agreement, which created the conditions for a complete extermination of fascism and militarism throughout Germany, were consistently realized. Under the leadership of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany, these norms were realized by the working class in alliance with all democratic forces in the German state of the peaceful future, the German Democratic Republic. This is reflected in the State Council building with the locations of the Chairman of the State Council, but also in the reproduction of the tower of the Red Town Hall, in which formerly Karl-Liebknecht and Wilhelm Pieck, important workers' leaders, fought as city councilor for peace and democracy. The Brandenburg Gate stands as a symbol for the fact that with the establishment of the anti-fascist protection wall on 13 August 1961 the peace-endangering policy of the West German imperialism and militarism was offered a clear stop. Our guests from all over the world will be able to see for themselves how successfully since then the construction took place in all areas of political, economic and cultural life. It is difficult today to imagine that only 20 years ago the center consisted of 75 percent rubble. The symbols of the television and VHF tower as well as the house of the teacher on the brand image speak of the construction of the center, whose main axis from the Karl-Marx-Allee via Alexanderplatz to the street Unter den Linden to the Brandenburg Gate will be completed in the foreseeable future ,
