These additional stamps were created at the suggestion of the Federal Minister of the Interior to promote the German Youth Hostel Association. The artists commissioned with the drafting were consciously not given a clearly defined task. They should grasp the nature of German youth, their problems and their quest for their own feelings. The executed pair of brands convinced above all because it juxtaposes the elements of the masculine and the feminine in pure and noble interpretation.
